Signe grew up in a Navy family that frequently relocated during her father’s long military career. This constant moving gave her a love of adventure and new places, which she shares with her characters.
Signe reads history, adventure, romance, westerns, and mysteries. As a girl she read every book in the OZ series, which likely led to writing about a young girl and her unusual companions in Anthra’s Moon, Mermaid’s Gold, and Summoner’s Fire. For Queen of Incense, she drew upon many visits to Death Valley, CA to write about traveling in the Arabian Desert.
Signe is a member of the Historical Novel Society, Women Writing the West, and NW Independent Writers Association (NIWA). She lives in beautiful, rainy Portland, Oregon with her family and an assortment of friendly pets.
